The Green Thumb Committee is proud to present the 
Fall Green Thumb Award to Darlene and Lorenzo Portelli.
They have been beautifying their property for the past ten years. Their panoply of colorful beds and planters is set off by a welcoming wooden archway that Mr. Portelli built. Small trees and shrubs, including noninvasive butterfly bushes and several kinds of roses combine with annuals, perennials, sedums, and herbs in many cheerful colors, separated by bark mulch and gravel walkways. In the backyard are more planters with floriferous petunias and a small vegetable garden.
