Welcome back, StreamFest! The popular festival that drew thousands of environmentally minded folks in years past is returning strong in Port Angeles this June.
“Forever StreamFest; Tending our Gardens Beyond our Backyards”, brought to you by The Port Angeles Garden Club and aided by Peninsula College, will hold forth on Saturday, June 25th, from 10 to 3, at Peninsula College.
Headlining this community event are Ciscoe Morris, well-loved” Garden Guru” as well as Mike McHenry, Fisheries Habitat Biologist/Manager for the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe, and Randy Johnson, Habitat Program Manager for the Jamestown S’Klallam tribe.
The music, outdoor booths/exhibits and fun for kids are free to all. An admission fee of $5 gets you into the Little Theater to hear all three interesting and informative talks. The outdoor booths, with a native plant giveaway, all sorts of information, plus ideas to get you involved in protecting our waterways, are free to all. Additionally, there will be music and kids’ activities. (Ciscoe will be there signing his newest book, too.) Find out what you can do to help keep our North Olympic Peninsula a clean, beautiful place to live, work, or visit.
The Goals of Forever StreamFest are few but mighty: Jumpstart community efforts to keep our waters protected, Fund Scholarships in Environmental Studies, and raise funds for restoration/protection of local waterways.
We have sponsors to help, but of course your donations are welcome! (See How to Donate, below*) Any money raised will fund scholarships in environmental studies at Peninsula College as well as help North Olympic Land Trust with its waterway's restoration and protection programs.
Exhibiters include:
Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife
Friends of Ennis Creek
North Olympic Land Trust
Lazy “J” Tree Farm
National Garden Clubs
Peninsula College
North Olympic Salmon Coalition
Washington State Department of Natural Resources
Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe

As you can see, everybody who cares about our environment will be there, so you should be, too!
“Ennis Creek”, a Plein-Aire painting by Andrea Woods, is our poster art selection for this year’s StreamFest. In Andrea’s words: “Throughout my life, I’ve been drawn to nature and making images. I find inspiration for my landscape paintings just by living in the Pacific Northwest. I’m fascinated by the aspect of art that lets a 2-dimensional image take the viewer to a multi-dimensional world; pencil on paper, oil on canvas and trigger an emotional response. A strong foundation in drawing is the basis for all my art. I never stop studying old masters and contemporary artists. It’s a wonderful process and journey. I love to share my work in exhibitions. Outside in nature or in my studio, my passion is painting.”
